Seminar/elective in summer semester 2021 on digital architectural geometry: PerForm
Lecturers: M.Sc. Dipl.-Ing. Eva Hagen, Dipl.-Ing. Benedikt Blumenröder

According to the motto "PerForm" we will bring more movement into sitting in cooperation with CampusPlus. For this purpose, seating furniture is to be designed that moves or stimulates movement. The best design is implemented in the team and is given a place on the campus of the TU. In the design process, digital tools will support the creative work. There are workshops on the CAD software Rhinoceros and Grasshopper as well as graphics programs. The focus is on understanding and controlled handling of geometry. An overview of digital representation methods such as the creation of vector graphics, visualizations and the interface to computer-aided model making will be additional course content.

The 1: 1 furniture is implemented with the help of the robot.

Before the beginning of the semester, we want to work out the basics of 3D modeling in a voluntary block course in order to then design urban seating furniture in the semester, which is to be built in 1: 1 by the team at the end. The contents of the block course are also available as tutorials in Olat during the semester.

A Rhinoceros license will be made available to you.

The course can be chosen as an elective from the 4th semester or a seminar from the 7th semester on in the diploma, bachelor's or master's degree in architecture.
