Presentation "PerForm" on Friday, 3rd September 2021
Designing seating furniture that moves or encourages movement was the aim of the "PerForm" seminar in the department of Descriptive Geometry and Perspective under the direction of Eva Hagen. The students presented the results to the public on Friday, September 3rd, 2021 at 5 p.m.
"In the design process, digital tools support creative work," says Eva Hagen. “There were workshops on the software and the graphics programs beforehand. The focus was on understanding and handling geometry in a controlled manner. ”In addition, the students were given an insight into digital display methods, including, for example, the creation of vector graphics, visualizations and the interface to computer-aided model making. At the beginning of the semester, the basics of 3D modeling were also on the program. The students then designed the furniture and built it with the help of a robot.
The furniture-designs are now part of the outdoor study rooms on the campus of the Technical University of Kaiserslautern. The presentation took place in the “Gönnhart” outdoor learning room near the ESA student dormitory and the small houses. In this seminar, the Department of Descriptive Geometry and Perspective of the Department of Architecture cooperated with CampusPlus, a university sports facility.
